Dear Benedict Cumberbatch, just STFU. Your Moffat is showing
Am I the only one who’s not overly impressed with Benedict’s NY Times interview?
Yes, the fact he knows and approves the Otters is great. And yes, that comment about hair pulling will probably inspire tons of new
wet dreams Sherock slash porn stories appreciation material. But just hold on a second and think about the rest of the things he said.
The whole dismissing of Downtown Abbey and “we deserve it more!” just screams bitterness and desperation. In a huge Moffat style. In a way, I like when celebs are open about this stuff and don’t pretend they like everything and everyone. This is more honest. But the way he does it in this interview, the way Moffat does it all the time, it just makes himself seem jealous and bitter, even pathetic.
He needs to understand he and his show are not entitled to praise and the awards. He also needs to understand this “we’re the bestest” stuff will not impress anyone. Sure, Sherlock kicks ass (greatly due to his amazing performance), but this is just not the kind of attitude I like.
